As increasingly dire news reports stream out of Kathmandu, where the historic city center is in rubble, Lutheran Disaster Response is already working with partners on the ground to begin a response that will last well into the future. Gifts to support this work are needed now!
“Lutheran Disaster Response is committed to long-term disaster response, so our work is just beginning,” said the Rev. Daniel Rift, director for the ELCA World Hunger and Disaster Appeal.
Pray for people affected by the earthquake and its aftershocks, especially as they grieve the loss of loved ones and property. Pray for the LWF and Lutheran World Relief emergency teams on the ground, who are standing with people and communities affected.
Your gifts designated for the Nepal Area Earthquake will be used in full (100 percent) to assist those directly impacted. Gifts from people like you allow us to continue our response.
