Pastor’s Weekly E-Mail Message January 25, 2015

Stymied by the ice, but not defeated!  Yes, we canceled worship on January 18 because of unsafe conditions on the roads and in the parking lot.  But undaunted, we will come together again this next Sunday, January 25, for worship and praise, fellowship and service.  The theme of last Sunday in the lessons and liturgy was to be “discipleship.”  Because of the importance of that theme for every Christian, we will not throw away the bulletins.  Instead, we will use last Sunday’s lessons, hymns, anthem, etc. this week.  “Come and See,” “Come and Hear” the calls of Samuel Philip, Nathanael, You and Me – a call to active service, following Jesus.

Very important information about the food drive sponsored by Riegelsville Troop 127.  They were to pick up our bags of food on the 18th, but since we weren’t here, they will come one week later, on the 25th.  So, bring your food in specially labeled grocery bags this week.

Also, please continue to collect soup and other non-perishable food for the Souper Bowl of Caring on February first.

Looking ahead – some important dates and events:

Sunday February 1 – Special Healing worship service at 10:30 AM using the “Moments of Grace” worship resource.

Sunday, February 8 – Scout Sunday – Special Service at 10:30 AM.  All Scouts – Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies, and Daisies are invited to come in uniform and participate.  Contact Ben Naska  if you are interested.
