Calling all kids and parents – A special invitation on Halloween night – Friday, October 31.  “Trunk or Treat from 5:30-7:30 PM in the parking lot of Trinity Lutheran Church, 2170 Route 212, Pleasant Valley.  Send the kids for Treats – Safe! DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS THIS WEEKEND!  Turn your clocks BACK one hour Saturday evening into early Sunday morning.  You gain an hour of sleep.  You want to be sure not to forget, since Sunday, November 2 is a very special festival:

All Saints Sunday – 10:30 AM  Candles/Bells/Communion -All to celebrate and remember those who have gone before us and to remember US – Saints Alive today!

An urgent Code Blue call to service for the congregations of Upper Bucks!  For the second year, the Code Blue Program will serve homeless guests from December 1, 2014 through March 31, 2015.  The West Swamp Mennonite Church will be open during December and January on those evenings when the temperature or wind chill falls below 26o.  The program for volunteers has begun with mandatory volunteer training sessions.  The next Training Session will be held Sunday, November 16, from 4-6 PM at West Swamp Mennonite Church, 2501 Allentown Road, Quakertown, PA 18951.  Volunteer needs include host/hostess, evening and morning transportation drivers, overnight supervision (shift #1 8:15 PM-2:30 PMN; shift #2 2:30-7:00 AM), and meal preparers.  Please call Les Rice from West Swamp Mennonite Church at 215-536-5166, or email him at [email protected]

Looking ahead to the Ecumenical Community Thanksgiving Service – Sunday, November 23 at 4:00 PM at Christ Lutheran in Springtown.  Great worship, a joint choir, food and fellowship, and – very importantly – offerings of Thanksgiving.  There are 3 offerings this year:  1) non-perishable food, 2) cash offering for the Lord’s Pantry, and 3) NEW – hats, gloves (no mittens), sweatshirts with or without hoods, and socks for the children and youth of Silver Springs-Martin Luther School. Children and Adult sizes S/M/L.
