Pastor’s Weekly Email Message – August 30 and September 6

A lot is happening on Sunday mornings the last two weeks of this summer!

August 30 – Backpack Blessing for the kids at 9:30 AM.  Theme at worship – How can I have a clean heart?  Not just go through the motions of religion, but act from the spirit?  Come out this Sunday, and let’s talk about this together!

September 6 – Labor Day WeekendLast Sunday with worship at 9:30 AM.  We’re going to focus on work, whether we’re retired, students, parents, grandparents, at home or at the office, on the farm or at the computer.  Most of our life as Christians is not lived one hour on Sundays.  Most of our lives are lived everywhere else we find ourselves.  On September 6 we want to honor and bless your work and help ourselves to recognize the endless opportunities we have to serve God through our work.  At the end of the service, just before we go out into the word, there will be a blessing of our hands, for God’s work!

Don’t be early or late on September 13!  The Spark/Christian Education hour for kids, youth and adults will start at 9:00 AM.  Worship will move to 10:30 AM.  After worship, we’ll all enjoy a picnic, so dress comfortably for the day, and please bring a side dish or dessert to share.

Attached is your digital copy of the September Evangel Newsletter.  Printed copies will be available in church on August 30.
