Pastor’s Weekly Email Message – February 15, 2015

See the glory!  Hear the voice of God addressed to Jesus and to us!  Come to worship this Sunday – the Transfiguration of Our Lord – the end of the Epiphany Season.  Go to the top of the mountain with Jesus and back down again.  Receive a special spiritual report at the worship service, entitled “God’s Work — Our hands and feet and mouths and heart — in 2014.”

After worship, join us in the Fellowship Hall for great food – a congregational covered dish.  Council Members will provide main dishes.  You are asked to please bring salads, vegetables, bread, fruit, or dessert.

Our Annual Congregational Meeting will begin at approximately 12:45 PM.  In case of snow or ice this coming Sunday and a cancellation of worship, our rescheduled Annual Meeting date will be February 22.

A new church season begins on Wednesday, February 18 – The Season of Lent.  February 18 is Ash Wednesday.  A special spoken worship will be held at 1:00 PM, and a service with singing will be held at 7:30 PM.

In between the two Ash Wednesday Services will be our 2nd Soup Supper of 2015, from 5 – 6:30 PM. The soups are Cream of Broccoli and Chicken Noodle.  Eat-In , which includes soup, bread, dessert, and beverage, is $6 for adults and $3 for kids ages 6-12.  Take-Out is $6 per quart, please bring your own quart jars if you have them.

Also, if you cannot attend either worship service, Pastor Deal will make ashes available for volunteers and diners throughout the afternoon.
