Pastor’s Weekly Email Message – June 28, 2015

“Holy Animal Crackers!” It’s amazing — our Vacation Bible School (week of June 14-18) children, families, staff filled their ark banks — and the congregation partnered with them — producing a total of $1,801.39.  As a result, we will be able to send a heifer, llama, sheep, goat, pig, fish, rabbits, chicken, seedlings, and an irrigation pump through Heifer International to help families and communities feed and sustain themselves.  Thanks to all who were part of this mission!

The deadline for Bear Creek Day Camp is here!  “Jesus Is” begins Monday, June 29, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Riegelsville.  The day camp is for children ages 5 through middle school.  Contact Pastor Deal immediately if you would like to register!

Continue prayers for Mary Crouse, Katie A., Katie P.,  Alaina, and Alexis as they prepare to “Rise Up Together,” joining 40,000 youth and leaders in Detroit from July 15-19.  Sunday, July 12 will be a special send-off Sunday.

Call for volunteers to help with the Annual Beef Roast, to be held Saturday, August 1 at the Springtown Rod and Gun Club.  This event is very labor-intensive, but very rewarding as well.  Some of our very faithful volunteers who have helped year after year will be away this year.  So … we need NEW and FRESH volunteers on Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1.  YOU are needed for food prep, table setup, serving meals, desserts, and clean-up.  Please call Val McGinn or Dave Sauter if you can give some time.
