“O Give Thanks to the Lord, for He is Good!”
It is a time, a day, a week, a season to give thanks … for food and water, for family and friends, and for the Gift of Faith. Thanksgiving is a special day in our nation, but for all God’s people, Thanksgiving is a response to what God has done. Please join in giving thanks through all the responses listed below:
- Give thanks for Christ the King – This Sunday, November 20, at 10:30 AM, the final Sunday of our church year. We will fellowship at a Coffee Hour to follow.
- Give thanks at the Community Ecumenical Thanksgiving Gathering – Tuesday, November 22 at Trinity UCC on Route 212 in Pleasant Valley. Trinity is hosting us for a light super at 6 PM, and worship will follow at 7:00 PM. Bring canned goods and $$$ for an offering that will benefit a local food bank.
- Give thanks by gathering a Personal Care Kit to help Lutheran Disaster Relief assist refugees devastated by Hurricane Matthew and other disasters. Each kit contains: 1 light-weight bath-size towel (between 20×40” and 27×52”), dark color recommended; 2 or 3 bath-size (8 or 9 ounces) bars of soup, any brand, in original wrapping; 1 adult-size toothbrush in its original packaging; 1 sturdy comb with packaging removed; and 1 metal nail clipper (attached file optional). Fold the towel in half, place the rest of the items in the towel, fold and roll it so nothing falls out, and secure it with yarn, ribbon, strong, or rubber bands.
- Give thanks by helping us collect Christmas presents for families in our area who are needing some assistance. If you’d like to help with this ministry, call Lynn Gaun at 610-749-0217.
The Personal Care kits and other gifts will be dedicated on Sunday, December 4th.
