All Saints Celebration is coming this Sunday, November 6! And this is a celebration for all of us. In baptism God made us saints out of sinners. In Holy Communion, God forgives the sins of all the saints. This Sunday, we will give thanks for all the saints “who from their labors rest” – especially Betty Kiefer, Judy Barron, Nancy Fox, and Myron Kressman. We look forward to joining with their family members in this celebration. Please, come and be present with all your fellow baptized saints at 10:30 AM on November 6. And don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour on Saturday Night. You’ll get an extra hour of sleep as Daylight Savings Time is ending.
An important event at St. John, Richlandtown. St. John’s will be hosting a Grief Workshop on Sunday, November 13th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at their Activity Center on 1st Avenue and Union St. in Richlandtown. The workshop will benefit those who are experiencing grief over a loss AND those who would like to better serve people who are grieving. This program is made available through Lutheran Congregational Services and is led by Sylvia Havlish, MEd., Coordinator of Bereavement Ministries and a grief counselor for over 35 years. There is no cost to participate. Those who attend are invited to share a freewill offering as they are so moved. Please, consider attending this workshop if you are grieving or work with people who are grieving.
