Pastor’s Weekly Email Message – September 27, 2015

Dedication of new windows!  Let the light shine at Evangelical Lutheran this coming Sunday.  Let the light shine through our new windows to be dedicated at 10:30 AM on September 27.  We will lovingly and gratefully remember so many who made these windows possible.  As the sunlight shines through into our worship space each week, we hope that the “son-light” of Jesus will reflect outward as we leave to go about our daily ministry.

A really big day here at ELC of Durham – Sunday, October 4!  At 10:30 AM we will welcome into Christ’s Church by Holy Baptism the infants Christopher Moyer, Alison Rhine, and Emerson Rhine.  We will join with their families and sponsors in promising to help these two little girls and this little boy grown in faith in the gift of their baptism.  After the baptisms, we will all be invited to God’s Table of Grace for Holy Communion.  In many places, the first Sunday in October each year is observed as Worldwide Communion Sunday.  And, as if that weren’t enough joy for one Sunday, we will have a blessing of pets during the service.  Don’t bring your actual pets to church, but bring a picture of your pets if you wish to show all of us.  October 4 is the day of St. Francis of Assisi, who really loved animals.
