Pastor’s Weekly Email – Week ending August 6, 2017

Wow!  This summer is more than halfway over — where has it gone?  But the month of August lies ahead.  And the Church of Jesus Christ still has plenty to offer us.

Sunday mornings – August 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 10:00 – We will be using the blue “With One Voice” supplement to the Lutheran Book of Worship.  On August 6 and 20 we will use the “Bread of Life” communion setting.  Our music director, choir and congregation have really enjoyed using “With One Voice” for over a decade.  Come and see for yourself!

Other events:

This Saturday, August 5 – Come give blood through the Red Cross at our Second Annual Nancy Fox Memorial Blood Drive, from 9 AM – 2 PM at the Springtown Rod and Gun Club.  Call Norma Fox for an appointment at 215-421-8553, or the Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767.

Saturday, August 12 at 11 AM – Memorial Service for Mary Dungan here at Evangelical Lutheran Church of Durham.  The calling hour will be from 10-11 AM, right before the service, and there will be food and fellowship at the Riegelsville Fire House after the service.  Come and celebrate with us the 101 years of life and faithfulness of our sister, Mary.

Backpack Blessing!  Sunday, August 27 at 10 AM.  Kids and youth, bring your backpack for a special blessing and special gift.

Continue to enjoy the Sabbath Summertime God gives us!
