Summer is still scorching – but fall approaches – looking for cool relief!!!

Sunday, August 21            9:30 AM – Holy Communion

Theme:  “Removing the Yoke”
Lemonade on the Lawn (or inside)
Bible Study – 2 Peter

Sunday, August 28 Backpack Blessings to prepare all of our students spiritually for the school year!

9:30 AM Worship (Special gifts for students and parents)
Theme:  Humility – That Little-Used “H” Word
Bible Study – 2 Peter

Wednesday, August 31 – Choir resumes rehearsals.  Old voices return, and we welcome new voices!  Carolyn is inviting choir to gather at 6 PM for snacks and fellowship before rehearsal begins at 6:30 PM.

Sunday, September 4       Labor Day Weekend
9:30 AM – Communion
Theme:  “Our Faith and Our Labor”
Lemonade on the Lawn
Bible Study – 2 Peter

Sunday, September 11 – A BIG day!!! ELCA National Day of Service – “God’s Work, Our Hands” and … Our Fall Calendar of Worship and Ministry Resumes

9:00 AM – Christian Ed for kids, youth, and adults
10:30 AM – Worship – Volunteer Recognition – dress casually and comfortably
11:30 AM – Picnic – outside by the horsesheds, weather permitting.  Grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, condiments, and beverages will be provided by Church
Council.  Please bring a dish to share –  salad, fruit, baked, beans, dessert, etc.
After Picnic – various service projects, including clean-up of the playground and the shed, meal packing for End Hunger NE at St. John in Spinnerstown, and maybe
some other options as well.

This is a day to come together as a congregation as fall begins. We prepare ourselves at worship, are strengthened by God’s Word and the Holy Spirit, then go out to serve.
