Pastor’s Weekly Message – August 23, 2015

Choices! Choices! Choices!  What cereal, bread, car, TV program, media source, or other entertainment will I choose?  What job or school?  In our culture and in our world we’re bombarded with choices every day.  We live in the midst of choice overload.  Yet, more important than the things we choose is the choice of whom we will serve.  Will we serve ourselves or some other authority?  Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel together (Joshua 24) and pressed them with this choice:  “… Choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served in the region beyond the river, or the gods of the Amorites … or the Lord.”

Jesus called his disciples to make the choice to follow him – all in!  But it wasn’t easy, either for the Israelites or for the early disciples.  And this choice isn’t easy for us.  If we choose courageously and rightly to serve the Lord with our all, we’ll have life.  Don’t miss worship this Sunday, August 23, as we hear lots more about choices.

Full fall of faith, fellowship, worship, learning, and service!!!  Make a note of these events and opportunities:
