Pastor’s Weekly Message – January 11, 2015

Blessed New Year to you!

If you have not yet responded to the email from our Church Council with your vote on funding the purchase of a new heating source, please do so right away. A quorum of the Congregation is needed.

As we begin together our journey of faith in this New Year, we begin as God’s beloved sons and daughters. We are the baptized, joined to Jesus by water and the word. Come and celebrate your baptism this Sunday, January 11, at 10:30 AM. It is “Baptism of Our Lord” Sunday. As we hear about Jesus’ baptism by John the Baptist, we can experience the miracle of our own baptism – our “new birth” day.   After worship we need volunteers to help put away Christmas decorations.

Care-A-Lot Preschool is back in regular session.   There is room for mid-year registrations in the preschool. Just call the Church Office and leave a message.

Spark Sunday School, along with Confirmation Class and Adult Bible Study all begin again this Sunday at 9 AM.

Your new 2015 Offering Envelope Boxes have arrived! They are alphabetically organized in the rear of the worship space, underneath the clock. Come pick yours up this Sunday!

Our fabulous, famous Soup Suppers are back this winter!   It’s gotten really cold all of a sudden, and soup would taste mmm mmm good! Our first Soup Night is Wednesday, January 21, from 4:00 to 6:30 PM. The Soups are Vegetable Beef and Potato.   Come and eat-in, or pick up a quart to take out (bring your own jar!)

Take-Out:   $6 per quart – please bring your own containers if possible

Eat-In (includes soup, bread, beverage, and dessert): $6 adults, $3 kids aged 6-12, with kids 5 and under FREE.

Don’t forget! The SOUPER BOWL OF CARING is February 1. Between now and then, bring in lots of canned soups and other non-perishables and put them in the church windows.
