Pastor’s Weekly Message – September 11, 2016

“God’s Work – Our Hands” – Our fall schedule resumes with a very special day, Sunday, September 11! It is the ELCA National Day of Service. Our worship hour returns to 10:30 AM. Christian Education resumes at 9 AM, with Spark for children ages 3-11, Confirmation and Youth activities, and an Adult Bible Study.
First Responders will be our guests on the 11th. We will honor them and pray for them. We will also honor all the volunteers of our faith community.
The full schedule for the day:
9 AM Christian Education
10:30 AM Worship
11:30 AM Picnic – ALL are invited! Bring a side dish or dessert to share, hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, and paper goods will be provided by our Church Council.

Then, after the picnic, our community service begins!
• You can join Mike Rhine and the Property Committee on the playground to spruce it u8p – weed, mulch, etc.
• You can pack meals for End Hunger NE at St. John, Spinnerstown. Call me ASAP at 610-346-8314 if you would like to join this project.
• September Service – the whole month – Harvest Home. Bring non-perishable food such as cereal, peanut butter, canned meat and fish, soup, canned fruit and vegetables, rice, instant potatoes, jello, etc.
• Bring personal care items – toothpaste soap, shampoo, deodorant, shaving cream, etc. Bring your items any Sunday and place them on one of the church window sills. We will collect through September 25, then deliver to either The Lord’s Pantry of Project Easton. A cash donation may be made using the Harvest Home special envelope in your envelope packet.

Care-A-Lot Preschool begins next Tuesday! There are still a few spots open for 3, 4, or 5 year olds. Call Linda Reinbold at 484-894—0585.
