Pastor’s Weekly Message – Week ending May 22

The Holy Trinity – One God, three persons – I don’t get it!  It’s a difficult faith concept.  It’s a doctrine.  And that makes it tough to understand.  If you’re confused or curious, come to worship on May 22 at 10:30 AM, and let’s explore the Trinity together!

Sunday, May 22 – A Spark-tacular morning, from 9-10 AM.  This will be our last Sunday School gathering for a while.  We’ll celebrate what we’ve explored since last fall – the Wedding at Cana, the Lord’s Prayer, Holy Week and the Last Supper, and Doubting Thomas.  Our hour together will be filled with songs, games, prizes, food, and fun.  All Spark kids and youth are encouraged to be there!

Summer schedule begins on May 29!  May 22 marks the last Sunday with 10:30 worship, as we change to 9:30 AM worship hour on May 29.  Lemonade on the Lawn will be offered every Sunday concluding the 9:30 AM service.

Care-A-Lot Preschool holds concluding ceremonies and graduation for 3, 4, and 5 year-olds on Thursday, May 26.  There are plenty of spaces available for next year, so if you know anyone with a child of preschool age, please encourage them to give our Care-A-Lot teachers a call.

The summer is not just a dead zone here at ELC Durham.  Good stuff is happening for all ages, starting with our Circus Spectacular Vacation Bible School.  VBS registration will be held Monday, June 13 at 6:00 PM. Registration forms are available in the Narthex and on our website,  Our program of music, games, movies, arts and crafts, fantastic snacks, and more runs from Monday, June 13 to Thursday, June 16, from 6:30-8:30 PM.  VBS is open to kids ages 3-11.  Youth are invited to participate as part of our leadership team.

Bear Creek Day Camp will held from Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 9, from 9 AM to 3 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church on Route 212 in Pleasant Valley.  Kids K-5th grade are welcome to attend.  Trained college counselors lead a fantastic, fun week.  If you have any questions or need registrations, just let me know.
