Update from the Church Office – November 1

Pastor Deal would like me to remind you about the following:

TRUNK or TREAT is TOMORROW, Friday, October 30 from 5:30-7:30 PM at Trinity Lutheran, Pleasant Valley. There will be games, a movie, a hayride, and snacks.  There is still room for more trunks, if you’d like to participate.  They are also looking for some teens to help out with games, snacks, etc.  Please help support our fellow Palisades Cluster church by stopping by on Friday night!

FALL BACK – Daylight savings time ends at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 1st.  So set your clocks back one hour on Halloween night and enjoy an extra hour of sleep!

SleepOUT 4 Homeless – At least four kids from our congregation (Matthew, Alivia, Charlotte, and Emma) and possibly others will be participating in the SleepOUT 4 Homeless on November 14.  Each participant is asked to raise $100 to help fight homelessness, so please look for these kids on Sunday and make a pledge to support them!  Every little bit helps!!!

CROP Walk Update  – 77 walkers signed in. Evangelical Durham had the most walkers – 21. Trinity UCC came in second with 11 walkers. Trinity Lutheran and St. Peter’s tied for third place with 9 walkers.  The total amount raised to date is $4,618.00. Thrivent Financial will send CWS an additional $500.00. Evangelical Durham raised the most – $1,375.00. Christ Lutheran, Pipersville came in second with $1,005.00 and St. Peter’s came in third raising $735.00.  Check out our Facebook page for some great pictures by Joan Mammana.

One last thing to mark on your Calendar – don’t forget the Ecumenical Community Thanksgiving Service at 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 22 at Salem United Methodist Church in Springtown.
